He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1983 from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, focusing on analytical chemistry. In addition to his formal degrees, he pursued specialized training in mass spectrometry at Finnigan MAT GmbH, Germany, in 1987 and 1988. He further enhanced his skills through management and safety courses at the Pakistan Institute of Management and Glaxo, UK.
